My son is in Navy reserves and needed a patch replaced o his dress uniform. Sounds like a simple job right?
I am so disgusted I have never had so much trouble. My husband was in the navy and I always put his patches on for him.
But this material has been a nightmare.
unravels like crazy if you catch a thread and I did getting the old patch off.
Any suggestions to make this easier?
I'll have to tell him he needs to "pay" someone to do these for him if
I don't figure something out. As it is I have a small unraveled "hole" in the top corner of the patch. It's tiny but to much for a dress uniform inspection.
Perhaps I need to put something on the material to keep it from unraveling?
Thanks
Anne

You could try to put Fray Check on the edges and let it dry for 24 hours before sewing the patch on.

Thank you I am going to go look for this product. I am not familiar with it but anything that will make this easier would be welcome.

You can find it at sewing stores or on google. The brand name is Fray Check. It is basically a waterproof glue that keeps fabric from fraying. DO NOT use superglue for this.

Anne - I do not have any suggestions for you, but if you find something that works, please share! I have tried sewing on my hubby's patches, and have quite honestly given up! So please share your success (which I am sure you will have!). Thanks :)
