I went to my first farmers' market today, and it was lovely!
I bought fingerling potatoes, green beans, cherry tomatoes, a little watermelon, and enough tomatoes to make the pizza sauce recipe in the recent MaryJanesFarm magazine.
I was surprised how much was there...even meat and eggs! It was all really expensive, though. I don't think I'll be able to buy EVERYTHING at the market, but I'll try to buy as much as I can.

It's nice to get to know the people who grow your food! I am sure the quality and flavor of your farmer's market produce will surpass anything you can buy at a grocery store. Let us know how your sauce turns out! :)

The produce/eggs/meat and such available at Farmers Markets is sooooooooooooo much more tasty and fresh! My hubby and I have been craft vendors at ours for about 8 years, but this year are not participating for a variety of reasons. We do stop by and make purchases though and say "HI" to our vendor friends. Last week found the best curly leaf kale . . . great for my smoothies! Our vendors prices are pretty reasonable, which is nice! CJ

The Farmers Markets in our Area are Amazing. Prices in our area are on the high side everywhere...it is just the norm...but like CJ and Tracy said...the flavors and quality beat anything you can purchase at a Grocery Store. And you meet those people who grow your food and learn how passionate they are about producing non GMO foods etc. I don't know about how you feel Jessie...but I don't mind spending a little more to get Great Food.

Good for you Jessie! I love going to the Farmer's Market! It is such a great atmosphere not to mention the wonderful produce, flowers and crafts. I like to go to supplement my garden :)
