A friend was over not to long ago and spotted my clothes pin caddies...
She commented how she would like one so I whipped one up for her real simple...easy peasy...
I had a new dish towel that I purchased at the Dollar type store... I like to keep a couple on hand to wrap gifts & baked goods in as gifts.
Any how, using a wire coat hanger, I bent the edges up, pinned my towel in the position I wanted it in, stitched a small button hole at the top, then stitched the sides, inserted the hanger, stitched across the bottom & voila!
You can stitch the towel on top,,, but I chose to flip mine inside out, stitch and then flipped it back out.

my two vintage ones hanging in the laundry room.

$1 towel and a free hanger.

fold up and over the ends of the hanger.

you can top stitch the bag as is or turn it inside out, stitch and then back to right side out.
Don't forget to stitch a little button hole for the hanger hook to go through.

Easy peasy... and how cute would it be to fill with hand decorated clothes pins.
If you don't want to us a towel, why not recycle an old pillow case or pair of jeans.. any remnant of fabric will do....
Well now to head over to my friends house and drop this off.

I've made them from pillow cases but they're more time consuming. Mine is wearing out and will need to be replaced . . . think I'll go with your idea to save time! :D

I have one of the vintage ones like yours' but, no clothesline. It hangs in my laundry room and the clothespins come in handy for all sort of things.

Your idea is so clever and easy that I want to make one too. Any ideas on what one could be used for other than clothespins?

Hugs, Sara

I need to make a new one, my old one is worn out. I love your design and have a perfect towel to use! Hooray! Thanks!

Inside me there is a skinny girl crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies.

Grace, what a cut and easy idea! I love the vintage towel too as it makes it look and feel like something old.

I went to make another one yesterday, (another gift) and discovered that the towel was not as wide, about 3/4" narrow then the hanger ,,, no worries, I just bent the little edges up & over to fit the towel...that's what's nice about this easy project, you can manipulate the wire hanger to fit your fabric & no one is any the wiser!
