Hi all! I recently joined the sisterhood and am new to the forum. My husband and I live in Vermillion, South Dakota (southeast corner of the state) where he attends grad. school and I stay home with our 19-month-old son. Our dream is to have a small farm someday. I am a farmgirl at heart and am still learning many skills. I hope to learn how to sew, knit, crochet, embroider, quilt, etc. and am looking forward to earning some merit badges this fall/winter!

My husband and I moved to South Dakota from Indiana last year. Without having many friends or acquaintances in the area, I've been a bit lonely for some girl chat. My toddler keeps me on my toes, however, so I don't have much to complain about.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Welcome Amanda!

You will certainly enjoy it here. All of the ladies are just wonderful and encouraging.
Have you checked to see if there are any sisterhoods in your area for meeting? If not there are a few 'virtual' ones here. I look forward to getting to know you more

(((hugs))) and welcome Amanda! Come on here any time of the day, and there is sure to be someone around :) I just started "chatting" on the porch thread and it is great just to chat.... about nothing specific, but rather just to talk to people on the same wave length. Sound like you have some big crafting dreams - I think that is fantastic! I look forward to seeing your creations!
