In our house, I do not have a sewing room. So I set up my vintage sewing machine in our dining room. All my fabrics/supplies are in a large armoire. So I have been sewing up a storm all summer. Since I don't have to set up and tear down everyday it has been wonderful. Hubby has been very impressed with everything I have gotten done.

In fact, I just put together a baby quilt this morning. I am going to run and get a backing for it tomorrow and get it in the hoop.

During the 90+ degree afternoons I am in the basement sewing and crafting away. When the afternoons are cooler and therefore more comfortable for me I head back out and get in the garden. I am currently sewing a Christmas present for my amazingly wonderful mother-in-law.

With Texas weather in the 100's lately, I have been at my sewing machine working away on things for my son's wedding next week! So far: 8 tote bags for Bride, Bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride, Flower Girl and then one for me! I also made a matching zippered cosmetic bag for the Bride along with matching key ring and towel hair wrap. Then I got to work on the garter! Now I am putting the finishing touches on my dress for the wedding. Thankfully the wedding is indoors!!

I don't do much sewing in the summer because there is to do much to do inside and out. I usually start working on things in the fall when it is cooler and there is less to take care of.

I try to sew and/or craft at least one Saturday a month... honestly, joining the swaps has helped me to do that!!! I really need to start doing more sewing, as Christmas is quickly approaching!
