We have had something eating our green bean plants? We have lettuce and tomatos and they have not touched them? We are puzzled? Can anyone help?

Beetles commonly eat ours! This is the first year item that it hasn't happened! We are actually getting green beans off our pole beans this year! Oddly, they do not seem to like my bush beans, so we also plant those to make up for the pole bean loss.

Whatever it is, I believe to be bigger than a beetle. the beans and the stalks are gone and they have eaten them down to where only a little bit of the stalk sticks out of the ground.?

Me. When we were first married, I rushed out to the garden to pick some spinach leaves to add to my tuna sandwich. They tasted like no other spinach I had ever eaten. My DH informed me that I had eaten bean leaves.

birds and rodents both will eat young sprouts, make a spray out of dried hot peppers, seep over night starting with hot, hot water and spray on your plants...

I know we have rabbits but we have lettuce and I would think they would eat that too and not a piece of it has been touched?? So that is why I am perplexed.
Tina the suggestion about the hot pepper spray I will have to give it a try.. Thank you...

I heard one day when I went out there something run away but I did not get a look at it to see what it was. So I know it is something big enough to do that. hehehehe

Now that you say that Beverly, I'm leaning more towards a groundhog. They will eat one thing and leave the rest alone. When they run away, they can make a big commotion. If possible, think about putting chicken wire or hardware cloth up around those plants and see what happens. Good luck!
