First of all, I've been sick with a bad cold. This past Saturday, ds had a cub scout family picnic where families brought food for their own party. I made a homemade Italian but knew that it would be soggy before we are it. This past winter we fitted a large piece of Styrofoam around our bilco door to keep the wind out. There was a large piece leftover. I cut the piece to fit in the narrowest part of my cooler on bottom. I put ice in the bottom then the Styrofoam then my food. No soggy bread. The cooler sat it my car in 80 degree heat for 6 hours. There was no spoilage. My little Debbies (yes I cheated) didn't melt. I wouldn't trust mayo products as it wasn't that cold. All created from a semi feverish brain.

Patience is worth a bushel of brains...from a chinese fortune cookie

I like this idea. Thank you for sharing. My husband takes sandwiches quite a bit for lunch. It would be nice to give this a shot and see if we can start saving his sandwiches!
