I try and write something in my journal everyday. Then I was looking at the not very pretty blue cover and thought, maybe I could make it look better. Well it does look better, but not as better as I have seen ones in magazines and on craft sites. It was fun to do, and maybe I will get better at it. Never was to good in art.

Oh Nancy! It looks fabulous. There are no mistakes when it comes to art. This is your own statement. I like it.

Nancy Jo... it looks adorable! Like something you would now really enjoy writing in.
It is all about making it look inviting and enjoying picking it up and putting your thoughts down.
Now the question is... do you have a favorite pen to use???
I always write with purple ink (my trade mark ink color) and I try to find pretty pens that I like...but if I can't find Pretty In Purple...I just make sure my plain Jane pen has purple ink and I'm happy and good to go.

Funny you should bring this up. I work at Barnes and Noble and I am always checking out the journal section. I keep thinking I really want a new one but I feel guilty because every time I buy a new one, I write in it a few times and then put it aside. I've come to the conclusion that my journals have not "spoken" to me. I mean, they haven't made me WANT to write down my thoughts. You've given me the idea to jazz mine up instead of replacing it. I can truly make it mine. Have you noticed that most journals that are store bought will have lovely covers but the paper just doesn't "do it," for me. The lines are too wide, too pale, too out of sync with the cover of the journal. Hmmm, think I'm going to do something creative!
Thanks!

Thank you girls. Yes it was fun to do. Love playing with paper stuff. always cutting out things and saving them. I might try an altered book next. Have to look into that.
