Hi all of my farmgril sisters,
I have made toiletries such as bath bombs, oils, bath salts and melt and pour soap. I would love to learn how to make cold processed soap and was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction for supplies. I would like good quality without having to pay an arm and a leg for shipping. Thank you so much for the help, I apprectiate it.
hugs Marcy

Marcy, I'm about to try and make soap myself. I found this recipe in a magazine for Marigold, honey and oatmeal soap. I'm going to see if I can find supplies this week. If you want the recipe let me know. Here is an address to try www.bulkapothecary.com for some supplies. Good luck.

Do you know anyone who makes soap? It might be worth it to get a one-on-one tutorial because measuring cold process ingredients is very specific and EXACT. Also, a tutorial will help you learn which ingredients makes for a better soap, how to find "trace" and what it looks like, and WHEN to use the safety gear.
I was lucky to have a friend who makes soap who tutored me AND let me buy ingredients that aren't readily available like Palm Kernel Oil. I paid the going rate, but I didn't need to buy or order too much, so it saved me both shipping and storage.
Anyway, well done home made soap is FABULOUS. Making it is definitely a skill worth having!
