I am at it again....with the card swaps! I am on a roll.
It will a Spring/Easter Swap and the dates are as follows:
Sign up ends: March 15
Partners Posted: March 18
Mail-out: no later than April 4
Easter is April 20th.

Ha ha ha, Connie! You are right. Sometimes I get mixed up with so many going on! I will blame that on a "senior moment." Realy, I love doing these swaps. I went to the PO today and mailed cards and packages. They certainly know me in there!

Suzanne, welcome to the card swap from one Cajun to another! I spent about 12 years in Lafayette/Eunice and call it home even though I was not born and raised there. LA is near and dear to my heart andI would probably still live there but it is just tooooooo hot!!!! My best friend lives in Prairieville. I taught school in Eunice, Opelousas, and Parks. I love everything Cajun! Are you going to Mardi Gras? I miss the ones in Eunice and Lafayette. They were very family-oriented. Glad you are joining in this swap and I see you are new to posting which must mean you are new to the Farmgirl Connection. I think you will find you love it.Eat some gumbo for me. If I had some andouille sauage, I could make some, but that is nowhere to be found here.

Portia, My Brother-in-law and nephew live in New Orleans, they have been there 12 years. They love it! it is home to them now!
My Post office knows me too, they say, Farm Girl Mail? and I say "of course!"

Portia, They love the great outdoor concerts on Jackson Square and My nephew just bought his own house, looks like NYC Brownstone so cute with a neighborhood grocery just 2 blocks down. He loves to cook out and got him a outdoor fire pit also. He always starts his emails to me Who Dat? LOL!!! We hope to visit them this Spring!

I agree about the heat....this scot Irish gal does not like to sweat. But thankfully La is the land of big shady oak trees, big front porches, ice tea, and cucumber/ lime water. I remember when I lived in NY for a few years how awful it was trying to find food to fill that craving for Cajun food. It never was satisfied. I had to move back to La to get a good meal. As far as Mardi Gras goes. The nearest I get to that scene is all the massive amounts of King Cakes I make and the parade at my children's school. My oldest daughter Alice is on the princess court this year.
I have my King Cake recipe listed in my recipe box at my website if you gals would like to give it a try.

Suzanne, I know what you mean about the food! My husband had a heart attack a few years ago and just doesn't think he could take the heat....otherwise, we would move in a heartbeat! The only parade we really liked was the family-friendly one in Eunice. They can have the NO one!I will have to check out your king cake recipe. I have never made one even though I bake all the time. But, I have certainly eaten my share!Hope your daughter has fun.
