I picked this up couple of years ago with some knitting supplies at a thrift store. I haven't yet learned to knit. Can anyone tell me what this is used for. It is nice piece of wood. No scratches, marks.
Thanks for any help identifying this! Tracy

This is used to sort out different colors of yarn for intricate needlework such as embroidery and cross stitch. Perhaps this could have been used to sort yarns for tapestry knitting.

Thanks for the info! I will never use this. Sounds too complicated. Anyone ever use one of these?

Yes, but not like that one. When you have for example; cross stitch patterns with many colors this keeps them in order and handy for that project!

Oh, yes. I used one to keep my threads/colors separated and ready when I did crewel work in the 60's and 70's.
