We are not suppose to get snow and ice here in the lowcountry (South Carolina). Its just not DONE! But sure as I'm sitting here, we're getting hit by some wet, white stuff starting tomorrow. As a Virginia girl, born and bred, I have to remind myself not to go all out for hunkering down because the stuff never sticks around here But some things are just hard to forget. I brought in a bunch of wood and made sure my supply was dry. I then cleaned my yard and put things where they should have been and then did the grocery shopping. I plan not to move my truck unless I have to. If I were back in Virginia, I would be planning to be housebound for at least a week.

Its just so strange to be out in short sleeves and flip flops one day and long johns and furry boots the next!

Snowy and windy yesterday. So windy that it caused a four foot drift right in front of the garage and had to get plowed out today. School was cancelled. No snow and sunny, but still very windy and cold today. I'm sooo ready for spring!

It is -7 with wind chills making it feel like -37 here in the Chicagoland area. We have about a foot of snow on the ground too. It has been that way for almost two months now. We are looking forward to a early spring & praying like crazy we get one!

Stay warm everyone!

Very cold, ladies! No snow here, and less rain than usual, but our heaters won't turn off! Thank goodness for fuzzy socks and robes!

Yesterday was -10 and -47 with the windchill. this morning it is -17 close to -50 with the wind. The only people leaving their houses are going to work, but a lot is shut down. Schools are closed.

At work yesterday, we had lots of patience cancel and not show up. Just too cold.

We are just staying in today. We will watch movies and play games, clean house. We have to be careful with what we do because of the propane shortage. So doing extra baking and cooking is out of the question. I will put soup in the crockpot.

Be safe and stay warm .

Waynesboro, GA Yesterday rain turning to sleet. It snowed last night, but I think only maybe an inch. Good enough to call off school, which means I get to work on my first ever quilt block. What an added benefit to the beauty created by this rare occurrence.

Blessings,

Yep! It's a balmy 23 today here in Minnesota. That is t-shirt weather to us. Nice change from the -20 with -30 wind chills. We here do not take this for granted. We know that more is on the way and we scamper to get everything set and ready for the next deep freeze.

It sounds like you girls are getting all the cold weather, but here in the Rocky mountains it has been unusually warm. In the 40's-50's during the day, trees are budding. BUT, we woke up to rain and slight snow today which is wonderful because we really need the moisture :)

Stay warm ladies!

It's cold here. Not much snow on the ground at all, though we did get a dusting the other morning.

It's pretty cold here but not unusual for February when we get our cold snap up here. It's -19C (-28 with the windchill) or -2F (-19F with the windchill).
