Picked up a brand new package of batting at craft store today. This is the wrinkliest (if that's a word)batting I've ever purchased. It's Warm & Natural brand, which is usually much better quality.

I have the quilt back, batting & top layered on the floor and you can literally see the wrinkles under the top.

So I have 2 questions:
Can I iron the batting so it's nice and smooth and makes my cute little baby quilt look awesome with all its layers?
And if so, can I just put it on the old ironing board and press it smooth?

Thank you so much for your advice, assistance, and ideas!

Oh wowzers, Ann... good question...
I wonder if you can place a layer of cotton fabric under and over the batting,(to be safe),, and with the iron temp on med... it might be safe to press out the crease in the batting... hmmm

Put it in the dryer it will relax and wrinkles will go away.

I have ironed and steamed mine before. Just use a cloth between iron and batting. Worked great.

Thank you all so much!
This quilt is for a really special baby - we joke that she's the 2nd most anticipated birth in 2000 years! Mom & Dad have been trying to conceive for a long time, and after 3 miscarriages, our little angel is on her way. So you can imagine how frustrated and just plain sad I was when this whole batting mess hit the fan.

You are all amazing, and I am so blessed to know all of you, and be able to ask the really tough questions! Thanks again!

I always put mine in the dryer for a few minutes and give it a shake.

So I put it through the dryer, with a damp orphan sock to give it just a little moisture, on medium. It is practically smooth as silk. While there are still some lines, I've been able to smooth them out, and once the top is on and its quilted, no one will ever be able to tell.

Thanks again ladies! You are all awesome!

Dryer method with something wet works and laying it out overnight relaxes it. I haven't used that brand in years. Love the batting made by Quilters Dream people. I buy their wool, cotton and poly batting. Also have used their Dream Angel batting for baby quilts. Love it! :-)
