Praying for you, CJ! I don't understand things sometimes either, all you can do is accept life and keep on talking with God. GI bugs are lousy, that's for sure. Probiotics help--I'm going to look into getting some myself.

CeeJay, I have no idea what diagnosis you are struggling with but have you considered going to a larger academic medical center in your state and getting a second opinion? Sometimes, the larger centers have more recent research and clinical trials that might provide some new ideas for treatment. It can't hurt and most insurances will cover getting a second opinion. At the least, you would have the peace of mind that what you are currently doing is the best course of treatment despite unexplained set backs. Sometimes we have to realize that our current physician may not be in the know of the latest medications and treatment plans even though we have been to them for years. Some diagnosis today require teams of physicians to get the patient to a better baseline. This is where going to an academic medical center physician group will be helpful. Just a thought to chew on. I will be praying that better answers and results will be forthcoming and you feel better and able to return to your normal activities!

Oh CJ so sorry to learn about your challenges. If you can stomach it drink the cranberry juice, just a little, as it fights off all kinds of bugs. (or take the capsule). Also, if you are not allergic to aspirin good old peptobismal is listed in my book "When There is No Doctor" a manual used by health workers in the jungles, etc of the world. It actually is also used in hospitals to help fight e-coli. They list it as one of the most valuable over the counter aids we can use when in trouble in the tummy arena. I'm allergic to aspirin so the salicylic acid is a problem for me, as well as in many healthy fruits and vegetables are high in salicylic acid. I used to have so many problems until I found out I was reacting to the baby aspirin I used to take, and then identified so many sources I was ingesting salicylic acid in. I am better now. Anyway, the cranberry is quite a healer in situations when nothing else seems to work.

I'll be praying for you also CJ. The time change can be hard I know! We didn't used to have it in Indiana. I'm from Illinois, so I grew up with it most of my life, but my husband still complains about it every year. It's rough on the little kids too, with bed time and all that. It's an annoying adjustment, hang in there!
