Hi Farmgirls.

As you all know, tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of 12/14 and the tragedy in my town. In honor of my town, I penned a little poem and thought I'd share it with you all here.

“One Year”...by Nicole Christensen

I don’t need an anniversary to remember all that pain-
Every parent sometimes thinks, “What if…”, it can make you go insane.

The families lost so much...the grief they all must bear.
I pray each day that they can know how much we all do care.

Changes in our world, we really have to make.
Be more aware and come together; a step we have to take.

Newtown was always special, a community so dear.
It never should have happened; I can’t believe it’s been a year.

I don’t need an anniversary, they’re forever on my mind.
Twenty-six sweet, brave angels whispering,

“Remember to be kind.”

Love to all,
Nicole

Nicole, I agree you did outstanding on that poem. It does so break my heart still to think of that nightmare. Prayers for everyone in the area of Sandy Hook, especially the families so deeply impacted. May their little angels comfort them.

Nicole...so Lovely and Sweet!

Too horrific about the New Shooting today in your State.
It is just terrible. We just had the Anniversary a couple days
ago of The Mall Shooting in Portland, OR. A Mall that I love
to go to. Haven't gone there since.

Prayers Continue to go out To All The Families Impacted by these
Terrible Shootings.

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

Nicole,
What a beautiful poem, and a wonderful way to remember the 26 angels who lost their lives.
Your community and those families are forever in my prayers, for as a mother of two school aged children, I can not imagine their pain.
Something truly MUST be done, to stop this from happening.

Thank you for sharing this, well done!
Hugs and blessings,

~Laurie

Thanks, everybody. We're good. Newtown handled the day well. They really kept the media at bay and we got a huge snowstorm. Did anyone see on the news or on the internet anywhere the birdhouses hanging in a big tree as a tribute to the 26 fallen? Those were made by two Girl Scout troops - mine and another. Some were also made by teachers at Sandy Hook. The blue and white one in honor of Jack Pinto is the one dd and I made. The lady in charge will hang them up each year the day before the anniversary and take them back in after New Year's.

Farmgirl hugs,
Nicole
