Melissa had her first chemo treatment today and it went well. She is in good hands at THE WEST CANCER TREATMENT CENTER in Memphis. They have soo many volunteers from churches and ladies Groups from all over the Mid-South. They give blankets from the Linus Foundation and A lady just went around giving away hats. and another just saying that their name had been added to their prayer list! Thank you !!!!!so much for your prayers and cards and handmade gifts!!!!!! They really do help this journey day to day. Please keep her on your prayer list, she has 15 more Chemo treatments and then 12 radiation treatments.

Melissa is having her head shaved tomorrow. Most of her hair has come out, but she is not been too sick, but the stronger doses start the first of may. She ask me to say Thanks to you all! for the cards and continued prayers. I just talked to her, she called to thank me for her Tilda Doll and sent me a picture. Thanks to Pennie and Beverly for teaching me what a Tilda doll is! I told her I had just learned to make one from A Farm Girl Swap and she said, they sure are very artistic aren't they! I said yes they are! and I have learned a lot from them myself!

So glad to hear that Melissa is hanging in there with the treatments so far. It is tough going but hopefully there will not be many hard days. Thanks for the update and I will join everyone else in sending prayers her way!

Thanks for the update...I know this is so hard on sweet Melissa and your whole family...I am praying that God will use whatever methods He sees fit...to bring healing to this wonderful soul...we are here for you sweet girl...

I agree! She is absolutely beautiful! Her smile lights up her whole face... Even her eyes seem to be smiling. I pray I can be half the woman she seems to be! Continuing to pray for all of you!

Ya'll thank you so much for continued prayers! and the kinds words!! I will tell her every comment! She is kind and sweet. Her mom and dad are that way too. He is the first one to volunteer when someone needs help and so is her mom. We were lucky to have grown up with our Granny's strong faith!! So far, she has not missed work too much and she goes in on Saturdays when the office is closed and catches up her work since it is quiet! Cause there are 4 women and 3 men who work in the office and there is a lot of talking going on all day! LOL!!
I can't even tell you how much it means to me!! your prayers!!! and words of comfort!!! I copied and pasted your comments before and sent them to Melissa and her mom and when I saw her mom she just said," please say Thank You to your Farm Sisters, to know people all over the country are praying for my child, words can't even express!

Thank you!!!!!!!!! Melissa is so special to me! When I was pregnant with My Holly, Melissa was 1 and 1/2 and she would stick her head under my Maternity blouse and say Hi baby! and poke me in the Tummy ,that just stole all our hearts! It was so sweet, the way she said, it in her Tiny little voice! and she always had to lift my Blouse! LOL!! She would climb up in the Baby bed and lay down beside Holly so gently, she and my Holly are like Sisters. I think I wrote that we lived next door to each other for 13 years, so they grew up together. Here they are, Little Lucy and Ethel! LOL! sitting on my Aunt judy's concrete Chickens, They loved those Chickens!
