We are in the process of preparing for an ice storm later this week. What are some things I need to do and/or buy?

I'd say water, ready to eat meals, dried fruit. A sterno stove is great unless your lucky enough to have a fireplace to cook in. Board games are helpful. When we lost power for a few days I started learning to play poker LOL. Batteries for the radio and flashlights too. here's some helpful info:
