Here's a picture of my first attempt at dollmaking. Did this snowman last night. The glue was still wet around his eyes so it shows in the picture. Still have to make his twig broom. I'm going to attempt to sell some at our bazaar. Honestly I think this one is kind of ugly but then I'm always so critical of myself when I make something. Think I'll make smaller coal lumps next time.

I think he is cute. He looks just like some of the crafts featured in Create and Decorate magazine. Happy Crafting.

I am going to sell them for $10 each. He is 12" tall and will have a twig broom. Mrs. Snowman will have an apron and a broom.

I got a pattern to cut out the shape (not good with freehanding) and added my own embellishments. He's been "painted" with coffee and vanilla, then baked in a slow oven --smells really good. Buttons and nose are from baked clay.

Kay, Mr. Snowman is ADORABLE! You said he's "painted" with coffee & vanilla & baked in a slow oven? Please elaborate -- I'm curious about the baking part, I guess. I understand the coffee & vanilla would make him look old, but why bake him? I bet he does smell YUMMY! You did a wonderful job on him -- you're very creative!

Wishing you a great day!

Norma -- I read on the internet that baking would help with they drying process plus draw out the coffee stain more. So I put him in a 200 degree oven for 20 minutes.

Kay, he is adorable, and if he is definitely for sale, please let him come and live with me! Just let me know how much for shipping too. Might have to get him a Mrs. and yes, hopefully Mrs. Snowchick won't be too 'frigid' for children (ha, couldn't resist, sorry gals)! Nance

He was baked after he was stuffed. You should see the looks on my family's faces when they open the oven door and see that inside!

Snow Babies -- what a cute idea. Guess I better create a private area where Mr. and Mrs. Snowman can get together soon.

I'm working on the Mrs. this afternoon and will be making more of each because I'm going to have them at our Farmgirls Bazaar on Dec 2nd. I'll post pics on my website when they're done and you can place orders if you'd like. They'll be $10 each or $18 for the pair. Not sure about the kids -- working on those too.

Kay I had to laugh at the reaction to dolls baking in the oven. My kids smell something yummy-peek in the oven & say "Nevermind, it's just another doll". LOL
Cute snowman! What kind of bazaar are you doing?

Our Farmgirl group is putting on our first bazaar at the local Grange. We'll be selling our wares plus have 10 other vendors. It's going to be such fun.
