I don't know what there is about old books, but I love it when I find one. I posted a picture of a few of mine.

Nancy, I am a book lover too....and old books! What treasures!

Just saw Jack and Dave's adventure in the bathroom! What a hoot! Love your sense of humor...and theirs.

Old books are wonderful. There is so much information and fun in them. I have some old school books and they are just plain fun to read. How different from today.

Thanks for sharing your books with us. Guess what, I have the same copies of Pilgrims Progress and Swiss Family Robinson. Isn't that a hoot!

I myself have quite a collection of antique books. Some of them are over 100 years old. I have 11 of the 12 volume set of the Complete Works of Oscar Wilde, the first volume of Washington Irvings' Complete Works from 1882, a Fleisher's Knitting & Crochet Manual from 1915 and several Children's Playmate magazines from the 1950's. My dad started my collection when he bought me Studies in Reading Searson & Martin Eighth Grade by the University Publishing Company published in 1919. The Oscar Wilde complete 12 volume collection is worth $1800 but I would never sell any of these books. They have a happy and safe home with me where they are loved and cherished.

Love my old book collection! Of course I do love to read, and there is something about the old books that just draws my husband and I both. Love reading your blog Nancy Jo!

You can just see the character of the books on the spines! They look amazing! I really wish that my grandparents were readers just to be able to enjoy a classic book, but I am blessed that they were hard workers. Thanks for sharing! BTW, I like your blog!

Love the books! Then again, I a complete book NUT!! I'm not much of a shopper but get me in a bookstore. especially a used one where I can fimd old books, and I will be lost for hours. I love the feel, the smell, just everything about older books. And the lovely stories in the books? Don't even get me started. Nothing makes me happier than having a book in my hand. You found some great treasures and I hope you enjoy every one of them.

hugs
