HOORAH!! The cat is down and I think I've called everyone on the Palouse for help. I need a hot cup of tea and a nap

There is a cat up a tall utility pole in the next community over. The poor thing has been there since Sunday through horrible weather. No one in the city or county wants to help and I'm in tears. I've been trying to get help for it since yesterday when it's plight came to my attention. The power company now says that they are just going to go push it off of the pole and that it may or may not survive. I have no way to get out to try and help it if it does survive with out transportation. I absolutely hate to see any animal suffer. I was just told to leave it's fate to God. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but that is also unacceptable.

I don't know why I'm posting, I just want to cry and I need a little encouragement

Yuck for both you and the cat.

An odd thing: Is there a local news station you could call to tell them about the unkind power company and its plans to push the cat off the pole? Sometimes companies can be goaded in to action if the public finds out about something they are dong that is not particularly nice. On a slow news day or with the right person, a reporter could call the company to confirm that they really said they would push it off and possibly kill it.

Annika,,, so glad the kitty is down... sadly, where is the owner? and shame on the power company...
my thought would have been to call the local media to see if they could set a fire under the butts of the power company as to 'doing the right thing'... 2ndly,,, tobad Animal control or a local human rescue group was not contacted... bless your heart for caring and trying to figure out a way to help now enjoy your cup of tea....

Thank you for caring enough to do something.
The kitty may not be able to say thank you, so I'll say it for him...thank you!

Actually I had called the animal rescue and humane society people and they and several vets were ready to help. So they were all the good guys and I think I've made new friends in the process. No owner however could be found. I hope that it finds a good home, I have too many cats already and I believe that Drew would shoot me if I suggested another one

It's amazing and restores my faith in humanity to have so many people of various sorts all come together for a single act of kindness. It makes me believe that no matter our differences, we indeed all are human beings and have more in common than not.
