I've been lurking for awhile and thought I would jump in and introduce myself. I am an empty-nester who is slowly re-learning how to cook for 1 person. It has been 30 years since I was in a place to myself and, this has been a tough transition. My youngest moved out in May & I think I am finally coming to grips with being on my "own" again.
Any quilters/knitters out there?

Hi Carol Sue! Welcome from New Jersey. I quilt and am teaching myself to knit. Do love to sew and crochet and cross stitch as well. Hope you enjoy yourself here!

Hi Carol-Sue and welcome! Life is certainly an adventure isn't it? I think you're starting a new one and while I know it is hard try to drink in all of the wonder of having only yourself to answer to. You can go shopping, eat out, watch a movie you've always wanted to see and munch popcorn in your jammies on a Saturday night. You can put out that favorite afghan that everyone but you hated and snuggle under it. If you want to spend all day quilting you can and not need anyone's permission to do it. Join a quilting group or volunteer. Read a book. Go for a walk. Get a dog or cat if you can or want. All things are possible for you now. So grab a cup of your favorite beverage and settle down with Mary Janes farmgirls. Lots of quilters, knitters, crafters and artists of all kinds here. You're going to love it! Enjoy!
Hi Carol-Sue! I'm a quilter and my husband's family lives in Maryland. We go there at least once a year. Hope you are enjoying yourself on here! Blessings!
Hi Carol, Welcome to the Farmgirl Connection! Great place to share/get new ideas and make new friend. I'm also an "empty-nester" . . .for about 20 years. I don't knit . . do a bit of quilting, but nothing special! Welcome! CJ
