Mary Beth, your photos of your apples are absolutely delicious. I can taste the applesauce already. I could not find any information on Acana apples. Is that the way you spell it?

Those are beautiful apples! Our trees are not big enough to produce anything yet. I'm looking forward to that. There's a u-pick orchard in our neighboring town so we'll be doing that in a couple weeks. Do you make cider or juice from your apples?

I'm in Heaven just looking at your pictures! Thank you for posting them, Mary Beth! We're supposed to go picking over the next couple of weeks. Right now the orchard we go to has Gala, Empire and Jonagold... I'm trying to hold out for Cortland (my favorite!), but I've been hankering for pie and to make applesauce... I may not make it! Especially now that I've seen the beauty of YOUR bounty! I can almost smell them! Enjoy!

My very favorite apples for just eating...are Honey Crisp. But boy are they expensive in the stores. You pay more than a dollar per apple here for them. Love the taste though...can't be beat for sweetness and crispness.

Thanks Marybeth for the update. Those apples look delicious, crisp, and juicy. I wonder if we can get them out here in the west. Peggy, you are absolutely right about the Honey Crisp. I'm trying to get a local orchardist to give at least one or two trees a try. Expensive, but well worth it.
