We need some new ideas for activities, events, etc to renew energy in our town. What are your favorite events you like to attend?

I always love a good ol fashioned scavenger hunt. Both young and old can participate as well as businesses and you can base it on interesting facts or events that have happened in your town. So it can be fun and educational. Good Luck!

Dress up a dogs, or cats, or goats etc. Have folks pay a buck a vote.
Yes that's right, the winner will be the one that raises the most money. Not unlike our own gov't huh?
Anyway, I think that would be a great way to make a few dollars, & very entertaining too!

Our town does an event called Chalk The Walk where professional or amateur artists ( and regular people too!) use the streets and sidewalks as their canvas. It's really fun and the art that many of the people create is amazing!

Our town does a "Out to Lunch" every Thursday from 11am-1pm during the summer. It started about 8 years ago. Food vendors and local resaurants would set up booths and a local band or singing group would entertain. People would bring lawn chairs, do activities at the library, shop our downtown, have lunch and listen to the music.

It has grown to the point where the town has built a covered stage and put in new benches for people to sit on. You always run into people you know. It is a ton of fun. And raises the local economy.

These are all good ideas. We have a small park in the middle of our downtown with a gazebo that would be perfect for the Out Lunch and chalk the walk. The chalk idea would give the kids something to do. We have a great DJ that would be willing to do the music. Thanks for sharinf, we need all the ideas we can get.

We have a small "Downtown" area that has been revived. They have Art Walks monthly. Vendors can set up in front of the shops for no charge and sell their art, crafts, other goods. They usually have musicians spaced throughout. The stores keep their doors open later and have special deals/sales and some put out food and wine. They also have a ladies night with food, raffle tickets, etc.Similar concept. It has really helped generate business down there and now more of the cute boutiques, restaurants, flea markets, and cafes are actually staying open! I try to make it as often as possible. It's kid friendly and is always changing and growing.

A nearby community called Seaside has all sorts of amazing events. They do music series on the lawn. Maybe do a series showcasing local music? Something that all ages can enjoy like folk/bluegrass?

If there is live music and/or art involved I'm easy to please :-)
