I love doing swaps!! As I sit here thinking on what kind of Dotee Doll I want to make for my swap partner, it occurred to me, I have no clue what she likes! Most swaps have a theme, Dotee Dolls, just happen, they come out of the brain, so they really have what we think the other might like. I like all kinds of things and I may think that a Tim Burton skull type Dotee is adorable, but my swap partner may open her package and pull it out and think what the heck is this!! So, I was wondering if there was a place on MJF that we don't know about or some of us don't know about, that we could list things that we like.... kind of like the thread in the forum where we list birthdays or the one where we can search for members. Just a thought/idea that came to mind.
Hugs to all!!

What a great idea! I would love to have something like this to get an idea of what my partners like too...

And Pennie, this talk of a Tim Burton dotee doll got me all excited! I love Tim Burton. ;)

This is a good idea. A Thread where we can post who we are, how we live ( farm, city the burbs ect..) and what we like. I mean I live on a homestead so I like all things farmy and Primitive or anything homemade. Not everyone else is like me or lives like I do. Maybe you could start a thread Pennie. I would post on it. :^)

Or maybe there can be a place under our profile that when another farmgirl clicks our screen name to e-mail (for example), there would be a place for likes and hobbies.

When I do swaps, I check out former posts to try and get an idea what my partner likes. If she has a blog I check that too :)

Pennie,
What a good idea!
I have thought for the longest that we need a place for our 'likes and a bit of who we are'. I think it would be so thoughtful for our swap partners to receive something they like and not us.
How can we get this done?

Sharon,

I like that idea! I always go to my partner's profile and check their previous posts. I never thought to check to see if they have a blog, brilliant idea, thanks for sharing that! :)

I also think when you sign up for a swap, you can mention what you like or dislike so that when you get a swap buddy, they already know sort of what direction to take.

I love these ideas. I am another one who tries to look at other posts to see if I can figure out what my swap partner would like.

All good ideas Ladies!! I don't know why I never thought to look at their other posts! But for those of us that don't really think about doing that (like me) or don't have any other posts... or (like me) forget to to say something about what we like and such... I'll start a Thread, it wouldn't hurt.

I have only seen them on the internet but a burtonesque doll would right up my spooky little alley. Are they very hard to sew? I have limited sewing skills but I'd love to make myself and possibly others if they are cute some of these things. They look so ornate and cute that I dare not try to send any of my noobie fabric arts.
