I've got wasps buzzing around in my hen house. Do you all have any tips and advice for keeping them out? I haven't seen any wasp nests yet. I don't know if they are just casing the place or getting ready to set up shop.

hardware stores/feed stores carry those hanging traps, where they go in and can't get back out, theres powder inside that you add water to, its a smell they can't resist, and non-poisoios, you hand them away from the area that you want them to leave, works like a charm, been useing them for years...

Are they wasps or mud daubers. Mud daubers are very non aggressive and hunt spiders. We used to have them in TX and they were pretty cool. They make little nests out of mud. I really dont mind regular wasps too much either, but in the house is a little much.

I don't mind the wasps at all until they start dive bombing me when I walk in the coop. I'll see what kind of nests show up, if any, to determine what kind they are. They all have a purpose, but if I can make the coop a less desirable place than somewhere else, I'd prefer to encourage them to move out.

Yup that is not fun to be dive bombed in your chicken coop, especially if you might have your hands full of eggs...lol.
