Sorry for the long overdue wait. The latest is he's had to have 2 root canals due to the teeth dying, and have a new extended crown made. He's had a lot of dental work and has a temporary cap on right now. His tooth was infected, and he's on antibiotics for that. In early July,he'll have the permanent crown put on. His dental bill? Over $5,000. Which he's not taking well.
His eye is continuing to heal nicely and hoping the oil bubble can be taken out by August. He's owing drs on that one too, which leads me to the next thing he hit me with recently.

As some of you may remember,he was supposed to have a biopsy on his prostate which was delayed due to a tooth infection and then the eye repair surgery for the torn retina. Well,he let me know a couple of nights ago he has decided the specialist is a "drama queen" due to the drs verbal reaction on the physical exam Dad had and he thinks the guy is out for $$. So he's not going to do it as his other medical bills need to be paid down (true on that!) I did put the idea in his head to get a 2nd medical opinion,at least about it and go from there. But knowing him no better than I do,I can safely say he's not going to do it.
I don't know why I'm not worried about this. I have continued to do healing prayers and meditations for him (he doesn't know this) and I respect it's his body and his choice. And it's not as tho we're in trouble financially. We're fine on that. (well he is,anyhow-I'll be offering to teach music via Skype as a new venture-the store has been pretty still for the past due months and I need to do something to generate an income for myself)
Dad has been taken by specialists before and he figured it was the dr who referred him who was trying "to make $$ for his buddies" *sigh* So he'll always refer to this to show how right he is in not going to a specialist for anything.
I appreciate your prayers and the sending of healing energy on all this. Staying positive, and just going with the flow. Do see the post in Marketplace about mandolin, banjo, guitar, and banjitar lessons and please pass the word. I've been selling off stocks to pay my personal bills, etc and the portfolio is getting low,and I'm tired of having to sell the stocks off. I'd like to be able to build it back up again. Next July will make it a year since I quit that awful job I had for so long and to be honest, the last thing I'm willing to do is get another dead end job. I'd rather try on my own teaching music. I feel it's the right thing for me to do.

Dad's eye has healed with no scar tissue forming-thank you all for your prayers! His 2nd surgery has been scheduled for July 29th. The oil bubble in his eye will be removed and membrane buildup that has been distorting his vision in that eye will be scraped off. Luckily the procedure will be at a facility very local to us and involves no freeways. I had his dr phone his post op eyedrops prescription in so we can pick them up a few days before the operation, which means I can just drive him right home after it's done. Less stress for both of us. I want to thank you again for your continued support.

Thank you Darlene.....prayers and good thoughts are very much appreciated. The house is well stocked with food now in an effort to have an easy week after his operation.
I took my drivers test again and am very bummed out. Failed the test. Again. Did great in traffic, only to have the guy have me go on a very narrow residential street with broken lines down the middle, and I tried to keep to "my side"as much as I could. and he felt I was too close to the parked cars and failed me for that. I've never ever seen lane lines on a residential street before. He told me I should've driven right down the middle as the lines were broken. Geez. Here Dad even had us wash the car so it would look all nice (and it needed it) Will try again in August.
After he gets over his eye surgery there's still the matter of his prostate biopsy, and he's thinking the dr who examined him as being a drama queen. So I don't know if he'll go back for the biopsy,or see a different specialist. He sent me an article on prostate cancer that was stating most men in his age range don't die from it -providing it's a slow growing strain. So dealing with a lot here, tho I am doing my best to take his health issues one step at a time and not go into a panic over the prostate issue. Will be relieved to have the license. Last night I felt like giving up altogether on driving but I know I cannot do that.

Oh my goodness, Sherrie. You sure have a lot on your plate right now. I will definitely pray for you and your dad. I completely understand his feeling about doctors, but that prostate thing - that's not something to play around with. And I am so, so sorry you didn't pass the driving test this time. What an odd thing to be told you should have driven down the middle of the road! Hang in there. Will you be able to take it again soon? Finally, I will pray for your financial situation and that the Lord provides you with a good job and that He blesses your father with financial blessing for those bills. That has got to be so stressful and a heavy weight on both of your minds. It won't be like this forever, don't worry. Let's just keep praying for all good things - that your burdens will be lifted, that all your needs will be met, that you will find success and prosperity in a fantastic job, that your father will receive healing, and that the Lord will send you both great peace of mind. Hugs to you, sister. You really are an inspiration the way you are handling all of this with such strength, determination and love. You are such a blessing to your Dad, truly! - Nini

Eye procedure went like a charm and I got us home safe & sound with no dramas. Traffic was smooth, nobody doing wacko moves and lotsa green lights. Even a parking place in front of the house. Glorious. I take Dad to see the dr tomorrow morn so his bandage can be removed from his eye,and I want to thank you all for your prayers and support. This certainly hasn't been an easy time. He's very upbeat and has been told to have light meals after he's home so I warmed up some soup for him. Will keep you all updated.....

Thank you Ninibini for your kind words! I have placed more ads so hoping biz picks up and I'm offering to teach music via Skype. Really want my music store to prosper.
