Last July bought a 26 acre Amish farm in upper Missouri with all the accoutrements; house, barn, silos, outhouse.
I am spending the summer on it working it. My dilemma is the weeds have gotten ahead of me. I didn't even bring the lawn mower - it wouldn't work on the problem if I had. Any suggestions as to what would be the smallest tractor/bush hog I could use to reclaim a weed infested pasture. It had been rented out to someone that planted soybeans on it last year. The weeds are just about chest high now. Not a lot of money left after buying the place and hauling half of what I needed out here. Any suggestions? Too late to plant corn as far as I know. No one around here has animals to run on it or wants to rent it.

Ask around for goats to rent or pick up some at an auction. Around here everything is trimmed knee-high on the goat and as high up as they can reach standing on their hind legs.

When you free your mind your heart can fly. Farmgirl # 714,

Probably should have someone do it instead of buying a bush hog. Equipment buying can wait til I'm out here permanent.
