My husband and I are planning to raise a few meat chickens. We want to keep them separate from our layers, yet still as natural as possible. We live on a mostly wooded 2 acres. Ideally, chicken tractors would be perfect. We are having a hard time with a design that will work on our unlevel ground. Predators are an issue. We lost 4 hens just a few weeks ago. :(
If you have more than one tractor in use at times, and you plan on doing(raising meat and laying hens) it would be cost effective to run some electic netting around.
