Hi all,

I'm having a garage sale today and tomorrow. Time to clean out the old before Christmas with children occurs!

What a wonderful time I've had chatting with the people who stopped. Gardening, horses, small business adventures, and children were just a few of the topics that were covered. One lady who stopped, Sherri, even gave me a jar of zucchini relish. There is something about opening your home and heart with those who stop in, even if only for a moment, that is so heart warming! Several asked to be a part of my monthly business newsletter and said that they want to keep in touch! It was so much fun...even if it was a bit cold in Michigan.

I didn't get to the flower bed cleaning that I thought that I would, but I was able to get organized by decluttering! Most importantly, I met some new friends!

i think putting on a 'friendly face' ... a big genuine hello and smile ... attracts people to us where we might least expect it .. i met one of my very best friends in the 'frozen foods' department at a grocery store. SHE was the friendly one! i was digging through the frozen peas with my back turned to her .. i was wearing a fun, funky blue jean jacket that i had vintage pins and lace and embrodery all over (i got the jacket from the thrift store and jus' went wild with the decorating!) ... i head this melodic voice behind me exclaiming that she wanted to meet the person who had such a fun jacket! well .. we became great friends .. she joined our local doll club .. and met lots of other friends just by her enthusiasm to meet another person.

what a grande time you had .. don't those days just make your heart sing!

True Friends, Frannie

I know I would have loved to come to your sale, getting to cold here now, so I have to go to the thrift stores instead. Your right, you do meet a lot of nice people, and that lady giving you the relish, how nice was that!!

My friend Cilla and I have met so many wonderful people who have come to our Mammoth Yard Sales!! We had one last weekend (after a year break) and we had people come just to say "HI!" and "Where have you been?" Just checking in on the goings on of the Smith and the Owen households. They are now like old friends, and we look forward to seeing more of them. Getting out-and-about and meeting peoplpe is probably the best part of yard-saling for me.

The relish is incredible! It is almost 1/2 gone already.

There were 2 ladies who stopped for the sale, one on Thurs. and the other on Fri. Just by talking to both of them, discovered that they are good friends with my good friend who lives 40 min. away from me. I had heard so much about these ladies from my girlfriend, but had never met them. As conversation progressed - I was able to say....You know Deb Swider!!!! The look of surprise was so fun. What a small world too!

Now I'm just trying to get the stamina to pack up the garage and head off to the Women's Resource Center. My little munchkins don't want anything to leave our house!
