. . .TAKE OVER!
Vetch is a great ground cover! But....

19 years ago I planted some in front of my house, without knowing as much about it as I needed to know. After I learned about how aggressive it is and just a few months after I planted it I tried to transplant it to a location where I wanted more aggressive ground cover. That worked fine, HOWEVER, it left just enough behind in the original location that I cannot get rid of it! So, I just have to do my best with it!
Oh well!

Oh no that sounds to not be good. But the plant sure is pretty. Good luck with it all.

Blessings

I have vetch in my front yard but it hasn't over run but I don't have any gophers at all. There are about 5 of them around. I have pulled them out by the root before there seeds take over, I guess I have been lucky here.
It does work though depending how big the area is. Mine is small.
have a good day

I love vetch, but it does take over. Still, you can chop it and work it into the soil when it gets to the crazy state. It is supposed to be good for "fixing" nitrogen so that plants can utilize it.
