How about a Ladies' Vintage Photo Swap?
I think this would be a good way to participate in the 'The America Goes Red Challenge' to become more aware of women's heart disease. This challenge runs from Jan. 7, to March 28. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women. My doctor told me that women's bodies are very adapt at hiding this disease. So we need to become aware of the symptoms and take care of our bodies. You know, eat and exercise better.
Now for the fun stuff. Sign up to get a partner. For each partner send two different pictures of a vintage photo of a lady. It must be a copy of a real photo. No clip art or magazine pictures. Pictures should be black and white and before 1950. It can be a picture belonging to you, a family member or friend, or one that you purchased somewhere. Secure the picture on a red colored (remember the Challenge) 4x6 backing. On the back, give the lady's first name, dates of birth and death if you know it, and one sentence about the lady. If you got the picture somewhere else, give that info also.
I will try to do two partners for each one that wants two. Any suggestions to above? This is my first time to do a swap. So excited that it goes well. Sign ups close March 10. Mails outs due by March 20.

this is such a creative idea! i am the genealogist of my family so i have photos!

What a super idea!!!! Yes, please include me in this swap. I would like two partners please. I love the little red heart on the picture,,
Can we put a heart on our pics. It really makes a statement about the heart. I have had two heart attacks. First one in 1996, and my second one in 1998. Which is not uncommon for women to have two close together. Mine was caused by sever atrial fibrilation. Having had my heart surgery a little over one year ago. I feel great now! I am so lucky and so blessed.

I just picked my two photos, and printed them out, when I tried to find one sentence to write on the back tears just started rolling down my cheeks. I guess there good tears, just remembering my grandmother, and how much unconditional love she gave me, when she found out she had alzheimers she tried to prepare me. lol not herself but me, and told me she could not take me with her when she passes. This is a great swap. Thanks

I know just just how you feel. I looked at photos of my grandmother and her mother last night. The first word that came to mind was Wow. Two completely different women. My great grand mother feed friendly Indians growing up at home and fed Howard Hughes at her tent kitchen in the early oil field boom in Texas.
See, just like you, I can't stop either. Maybe, we need to have a swap later on the most important woman in our life.

Oops, I ment heart disease, sorry just read a story on cancer servivors and have family members of both. I am also a heart desease patient. However doing well, been 5 years come May 17th of this year.
