There is some info posted on my "Pioneer Woman at Heart" blog today, and I will have even more info on making them on my S.C.R.A.P. blog in a few days.

I did not care what color pattern it had, and simply grabbed whatever lighter color rag balls I had in my basket.

I love it! I've had braided rags sitting in a bag for nearly a year, with the intention of making them into a rag rug. It was meant for my baby's nursery, but I just have never got around to it yet. All the real work is done; I just need to sew it together. I think you've just jump started me to get it finished. Thanks!

Glad I could spark your motivation. I started this in Feb. of 2012, and finished it this year. I just run out of time over summer and fall.

I love the look, and will definitely make more.

oh and Kris, I like your clever idea of using a 'tic-tac' container to hold bobby pins... perfect purse size. I have been using a magnetic paper clip holder, it sits perfect in my make-up drawer so I can easily pull out or insert a bobby pin.

I posted the info on my S.C.R.A.P. blog today.

One other tip I forgot to add: these are not meant to be rushed, and can take a very, very long time to finish. I used much patience in finishing this.

Kristina, thanks for the info on the rag rug. I might even start one as I get material for next winter. Too close to spring for me to start one now, as my time will be gardening and sales at farmers markets. I am excited to get making these though.

your blog gives hope that it might be something i could do! thanks for sharing!
when i was little, my (adopted)mom and dad were given some wonderful rag placemats that i still have!they were done on a loom and have the threads hanging as "fringe" on the ends....they are a comfort to me but are packed away in michigan at my (birth)mothers..can't wait to get them home!

Tiana, I know what you mean. I am trying to get homemade Christmas presents finished before planting season starts here.

Margo, your placemats sound wonderful. I may add that to my list for next winter too.

Beautiful what a wonderful job you did, I too love the colors. Years ago I made one like that out of bread wrappers it was a lot of fun to collect the bread wrappers than make it, we were living in Germany at the time with no TV so it gave this young mother something to do. That was over 35 years ago now. WOW! where does the time go.
But it is a nice rug Kris and it makes me want to try my hand at a Rag Rug now, thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Debbie
