Hi everyone! I am so excited about joining this forum. I have been learning so much from you all on the forum and would like to be a part of the sisterhood. My husband of 24 years and I are planning to move to the Ozark Mountains in a year upon my retirement from the military. I almost cannot wait to have my own farm and live in the country again!

Amy,

Welcome to MJF. It is so much fun here! If I may ask why did you decide to move to the Ozarks for retirement?

Blessings,

What a warm welcome from everyone! To answer the questions of why I am retiring in the Ozark Mountains. Hubby and I have some acreage on top of a mountain that is absolutely beatiful, peaceful and quite (aka -Gods Country). I have never fallen in love with a piece of land before until we purchased this 40 acres. I don't know if you have experienced a sensation of land pulling your spirit towards it, but that is what this place did to us. There were several partials of land we were interested in, but we kept being drawn back to this partial of land. We can see our lives expanding into gardens, shop, and a barn to hold chickens, goats, and whatever else we decide to raise for food and self reliance. If you have never visited the Ozark Mountains, I suggest you take some time to visit. You will be amazed! Bless you all! Amy

Amy,
A warm welcome from California. Please keep us posted as your dream comes true. You are so lucky to be getting a real farm. Some of us just have backyard gardens and cats.
Keep that dream alive!
