Haha, Catherine! Go right ahead. The funny part is that "toenail" was a bantam black cochin; all you could see of her legs were her toenails. My son is nothing if not observant. :)

I always think I want to name my goats after flowers or herbs but never seems to happen except for some of them. I used to have a very ugly hen that was all malformed but still a good layer and she would cluck all the time so I named her Clugly. She was one of my favorites. I always think of the old movie Rudolph where Santa went to the island for misfit toys and some of my critters make me think of that.

When I was breeding horses I decided to use a music theme. So----

Cloud's Clair de Lune (sire was Cloud's Jubilation)
Legend in D Major (sire was Legend)
Legend's Serenade at Sundown (same sire and I love the song Sundown by Gordon Lightfoot)
Captain Jack Sparrow (okay, no music but JD is awfully cute!)
Stormy's Danse Finale (dam was Stormy and he was her last foal for me)

The trail is the thing.... Louis L'Amour

Oh, and all our dogs have Louis names, mostly from the Sacketts.

I am naming all the kids so far after the show friends, for some reason. Penelope's doe kids are Phoebe and her twin sister Ursula. Then Trudy's kids are Ross and Monica, since they are brother and sister too. Then Abby's bucks will be Joey and Chandler. Just sort of happened.

I get on different kicks with names for cattle. I have done movies, flowers, using a different letter of the alphabet for all babies, and so on. Not sure what I will do this year. The best names were for a pair of bull calves, Pete and Repete. Actually my husband came up with that.

Loyce my horses all have their own rock and roll songs. And some of the ones we raised were named after them. We had Dollie Dagger, Guy's Fortunate Sun. My Barrel horse Sequoia has several songs that I gave him. Life in the fast lane, Baby hold on to me. My mustang Wildfire is named after the song wildfire. My holsteiner mare Sarina has Long cool woman in a black dress. My old palomino has Locomotion. Our filly blue Jean Image has blue jean baby queen, My little healer dog Freckles has close to you. I spend way too much time at the barn, really. Its all part of my rock and roll fantasy.

Laura, I think I have a new theme for the next go round...that is if I can borrow your songs idea.
