I have been buying raw milk lately and loving it, However lately we haven't been finishing all of it and we go get more. A simple soulition would be not to buy it for couple of weeks but we don't want to loose our our "place" on the farms list. So it has been going into my freezer. I've made pudding and custard but I'm not very creative or adventours. Any easy ideas for my excess milk?

Homemade yogurt! Very simple! Here is a link I've used. Works great! http://www.azcookbook.com/how-to-make-yogurt-at-home/

I also get two gallons of raw milk a week. I make Keifer, sour cream, yogurt, homemade cheese, yogurt, ice cream.. and give it to my dog in small quantity. I spoil her. I freeze what's not used.. I also drink it. Don't feel bad about freezing it. Oh AMD as a treat for my hens once in a while I stir in some raw milk into their feed. They gobble it up and they get extra calcium. If you have any farm animals they would love it stirred into their feed as well.

When we have extra milk (goats) we make yogurt, frozen yogurt pops, chevre cheese (which you can flavor and use in recipes or cheesecake etc), mozzarella cheese

When we had a cow, I made yogurt, cottage cheese, cream cheese, ice cream, pudding, and we drank a gallon a day between 3 of us. I still couldn't use it all. Now that we no longer have a milk cow, I have found recipes for soap. The recipes are on the internet. I wish I had found them before.
Greetings from the morning side of the hill. |

Glad you were able to make some yogurt! That's my favorite use for extra milk :)

Mozzarella and riccotta are next on my list. At the farm where I buy my milk they have a cheese making kit it has everything I need to make mozz and ricc cheese (execpt the milk)so I splurged and bought one. We'll see how it goes!
