Well, today my e-mail was spammed also. I'm pretty techno challenged so I don't really know where it came from. Hopefully, my contacts received my e-mail asking not to open my e-mails in the subject line. It took a while to clean up the mess. Now, I will go through all of my contacts and delete a bunch that I don't contact anymore since I retired. Guess it was just my turn.

I received an email from you & deleted it as I have received them from others before ;) I also am techno challenged :( My question is how do you know your email has been hijacked & spamming your contacts ?
All I know is I try not to open e-mail that looks like it is mass forwarded or from people I don't know. I checked my e-mail yesterday and had a ton of messages "returned by postmaster". I know I didn't send them. Sorry this happened to you ladies.

That happened to me awhile back and then I couldn't even access my email or parts of yahoo so I made a new email and now everything is back in order. MB
Judith, As you all probably know mine was hacked and sending spam as well not too long ago. Like you, it was when I got back a whole bunch of "undeliverable" message that I knew. After that a few folks replying by asking me if that REALLY came from me. But otherwise, how would you know. The entire thing makes me angry . . . but ya' gotta just do what you can to keep it from happening, hopefully CJ

what angered me more was when i got blocked from posting on some geneaolgy sites that i have been on for years-some of the members thought i had deliberatly sent that stuff....
