ladies, I ask you all again to keep my husband in your prayers.
He had a stroke in July and in his words is working on recovery.
He needs the strenght that only God can give him to be strong and work hard on his memory. He has come a long way and has a long way to go.
I feel selfish when I ask god to make him well, he is a very special man and I love him with all of my heart. Please pray for us....

Patricia: You're a wonderful person and wife asking prayers for your husband. I'd be doing the same thing. Prayers are powerful. I will keep your husband in my daily prayers. Keep us posted. Marly

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Patricia, I will keep you and your husband on my prayer list. My husband in the last 10 years has had 4 heart attacks, and now has a difilabrater installed and is on his third one. Also, he has had 2 strokes, he has short term memory loss. Which means for him, that anything that happens in the last 2 months he can't remember. He remembers years ago, we have learned that as time goes on, he remembers more and more. He has been in all kind of physical therapy, and other therapies. It is very hard on family members, and the spouse. Just remember that love you have for him, and I was told he will never be the one I was married to, and I have to agree, such changes, but we still love each other almost 45 years married. Its hard on him to he gets frustrated that he can't remember or do things that he knows he can do. I don't want this to be too long, but just take one day at a time, deal with each thing as it comes. It is not easy! But when I remember that he is the one and only, I put him first, without smothering him, it does get easier. I don't have small children at home. My son is 40 he takes this hard, he thinks his dad knows everything, and he is unable to relate that his dad can't be the man he grew up with. So it affects everyone. So called "friends" of course their life goes, on, he is unable to keep up with them. So it is sad in the loss of friends, he has not worked in these 10 years, so it is disability that we are on,and so of course the financial times have been tuff. Things are getting better, I guess with time, and learning to live with it. He is able to get up and get outside, he helps with my animals, around the house, sometimes, he still has bad days, when the arm or leg don't want to work, or he can't function enough just sit in front of tv. I just think that the day his body needs to heal and recover. Just love him, get time for yourself, there I times, when I wonder if I am insane lol. But I hold my head up and march on. With Gods help!!! Huggs! Farmgirl #946 Linda

Thinking of you and your husband, Patricia. A stroke can be debilitation is so many ways, but after the healing begins, I think the emotional struggle and self esteem really gets hit hard. You will both be in my thoughts.
