Can any of you farmgirls help? My niece, Ava, who is 8, and living in Indiana, has a school project right now to see if they can get a postcard from each of the 50 states--each card just needs to have 3 or more little facts about the state that makes it unique. We farmgirls are from everywhere, so I thought I'd post here and see if any of you had a few postcards lying about or could even make one about your state and send them to Ava? I'm from Kentucky, so that's done: Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Texas and Colorado are done, too, but I guess it couldn't hurt to have multiples from each state if you're so inclined.

If you'd like to help, feel free to email me through the forum and I will happily provide the mailing address of the school c/o her teacher.

I really hope you'll consider helping--I don't know what the cost of the postage is now, but I can sure see the joy on these kids faces as this mail comes in!!!

Hi Jonni,
I see Pennsylvania is already done. However, I have lots of
postcards from my favorite vacation spot, Rehoboth Beach, DE
Will that help? Will send an email to you.

Thanks girls!!! We don't have Delaware yet, Jenne.f, and everyone, multiples are fine--I believe the goal is that each child goes home with at least 14 postcards. New Mexico, Hawaii, Utah and some of those other far western states will be the harder ones. I know folks who were born in Alaska and lived there up until a few years ago, but that's one that will be a toughie, too!

Emily, Oregon isn't covered yet---email me, gals, and I'll post the addy and we thank you so much for your help!!!

This is so much fun--as far as deadlines go, I would ask that you get them in by the next week's end. I think it's a "sooner the better" sort of thing.

What a great project. Her teacher sounds like a good one that thinks outside the box. Your niece is bound to learn a lot.

I would have loved to have done something like this, Catherine, when I was my niece's age. It really is a bit out of the box and teaches kids about places that they may never see, or encourages them TO go and see!

That's the coolest part!

Thanks so much for the continued information! Siobhan, did you send me an email? I answer several, but I can also get you through facebook if that's easier.

Just to update--postcards from states with 3 fun facts on them. I will happily provide address to mail to the school. My sil informed me just moments ago that her teacher forgot to mention that there are two "Ava's" (my niece's name) in the classroom, so please put them to the attention of "Ava Q." along with the c/o addy for the teacher/school. If you have any questions, please email me through the forum :) and Thanks again!!!
