Any farmgirls do book making? I want to start journaling and thought it would be cute to make my own book. Patterns? Tutorials? Instructions? I would love to hear from anyone who has done this, from easy to advanced.
Happy Monday!

Hi Heather, I make fabric journals and they're so much fun to make! It started from combining 2 of my hobbies, quilting and scrapbooking. I just gather together about 8 pieces of muslin or anything pretty and paint, sew, embellish away. I discovered that water colors work well on muslin. Then I cut out scraps, think of a theme. This last one is Spring, so there are birds, butterflys, ducks, etc. I like to baste my pages with thin quilt batting for more heft. I also find that leaving edges raggedy is somehow more interesting. And embellish with found objects, ribbons, buttons, etc. Most every one has these basic supplies around their homes waiting to be made into art. The other books I've made are: Beaches and MY Operation. Let me know what you think! Good Luck! Babs46 |

I do a lot of smashbooking. I love it! It is fun to just cram everything in. I am starting my 3rd. book. It truly is a junk drawer in a book format. LOL!
I love to watch videos on Utube about smashbooking. Check it out. You will want to have a full picnic basket sitting next to you. Once you begin watching the videos, you will not want to stop. Also you want to make sure you are in a comfy chair. LOL!
Oh well, while you are at it, you might as well have PJ sandwiches prepared in advance for the evening family meal. LOL! heheheh!
Have fun!

Deborah , I love smashbooking too! And I also love youtube. They have some great videos on so much papercrafting. I make mini albums out of empty toilet paper rolls. they are fun. I make me sweet peach tea from Crystal Light.
