My mother passed on to me a tablecloth crocheted by my Grandmother. She said it is at least 50 years old. It is an ecru color. It has several stains that my mother said she could not get out. I don't think she put a lot of effort in it. So I am looking for ideas to get it clean. They are dark stains, probably coffee.
Thank you.

I found pretty good advice here: http://www.ehow.com/how_6647496_clean-vintage-fabric.html For the soap, I would use Ivory Flakes, except I don't think they make that anymore. Maybe Dreft? Ivory Snow? Kirk's Castile shaved into water to make it into usable liquid?
