I've been working steadily this past year cleaning and de-cluttering my home. We love yardsales and were fortunate enough to find an awesome bargain from a carpenter who was moving. He had built a huge all-wood bookshelf that we got for $50. It's been sitting out in the garage for months and truth be told I needed a storage cabinet rather than a bookshelf. Since it was made of good solid wood DH and I decided to make beadboard doors for the front, a coat of paint and viola, a huge storage cabinet for my dining room to house books, magazines, cookbooks, craft supplies, etc. I'm thrilled, especially since I looked up similar items online that sell for several hundred dollars! Now the gingantic pile of stuff I can't part with has an organized place free from cat hair !

i'm needing extra "pantry" space for canned goods, etc, and have decided that a bookcase with doors of some sort would work well- i need something narro to fit in the wasted space where our back door opens into the dining room so i will have to be a teensy bit choosier-will probly hit goodwill first then craigslist befor ei buy a new one to put together.....

would love to see a photo of your wonderful piece!

All that's left to do is add some handles & a little paint touch up. This thing is 7 1/2 feet tall ! Woohoo ! Can't decide to leave it black or paint another color over top then wipe some off for a more distressed look. Probably go with the distressed, the plain black is a little "flat" for me! Thanks DH!

Oh I love that Anita. I could put my crafty supplies in it so my cat Sox can't plunder in my scrappy room.LOL

Thanks, it didn't take long for me to fill that thing up ! I can't get over the difference it made, cleared up so much clutter. I cleaned some stuff out of my china cabinet so now maybe I can actually have "china" in my china cabinet LOL !

Home sweet home after a long day at work and what did I find ? A box of goodies from Joan (Simple Living, December Farmgirl of the month). What a wonderful and sweet person you are. I just put away Christmas decorations from the entry way so that's where my grubby candle will go. I LOVE Victorian so the adorable picture frame will have my grandson's school picture on my dresser to enjoy every day. It's like you read my mind, been thinking of having a good old fashioned tea party, so the tea and cookies couldn't have been more perfect (I adore ginger cookies). The journal will come in very handy as I work toward some merit badges and the card was so cute! I'm very blessed in so many ways. Thanks from the bottom of my heart, you made my day!
