We had our first good snow storm of the year here at the farm. Hit last night and our road hasn't been plowed yet. (Our little dirt road of three houses isn't a high priority at times like these, but that's ok.) Hard to say how much snow we've actually got because everything drifts so bad out here (being surrounded by fields) but I'm guessing somewhere between 8-12 inches. The children's program at church was canceled this morning, so the boys have been outside most the day sledding. I spent the day baking. Ah, winter. :)

It is headed my way. It started snowing this afternoon. And we are expected to get 6-8 inches tonight. We will watch for school closings in the morning. But this close to Xmas break I doubt they will cancel. Maybe delay.

Hubby put the pole on the truck today. We are prepared.

It is a strange storm. Yesterday night they predicted 8 inches at the most, now they are saying up to 15. The local city police department advised no travel and said there have already been several crashes because it is so slippery. I wanted to call them and ask if that meant my hubby didn't have to go into work tonight (he works overnights as a deputy). Somehow I don't think they were talking about HIM not driving. ;) I hope you stay safe no matter how much snow you end up with!! Will be interesting to see if they cancel school for you! :)

I would love to see a nice blanket of snow on our ground. It has been so dry. My prayers are for a blessing of snow right after Christmas so everyone can enjoy the holiday and get home safely. Then, bring it on!!

Arttie - I have to admit when I read pole on the truck, I was a bit confused but I figured maybe it was a Michigan thing. :) Schools so far are two hours late tomorrow but the roads are so nasty I wouldn't be surprised if they canceled. I worry about my hubby on these roads - it took three of us to push him out of the driveway to work this evening, and we had plowed everything with the tractor! Praying all of you who have to drive in it stay safe... :)

All we are getting here in the Chicago area is rain and clouds. I am beginning to wonder if we will get a white Christmas here or not.

Enjoy your beautiful snow!

We had at least 8 inches here, if not more, haven't heard an official snow total yet. It is beautiful. My grandkids had a great time in the snow this morning while waiting for the bus (2 hour late start).

Great pic. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad y'all are having fun in the snow. I don't miss it at all. We are FINALLY back in Florida this week and went to the beach on Sunday after church. It has rained the past 2 days but is warm and I am happy. Enjoy. I hold warm thoughts of all of you out there. Please be safe. Joey
