Six weeks! I have been MIA due to this build. We put up the back deck ourselves and pulled down the rest of an 1883 barn that was knocked over by a tornado so we can use the beams in the house. Crazy time here! The inside is about to start looking like a house now that the roof and doors are on. The front porch is 500 square feet and we had to fire one builder who kept telling me we couldn't do it.

This is a bad night photo of the back when we were putting up the support beams for the back porches. They are around 13 feet deep and I can't remember how wide but just perfect to bundle up and watch the trees and birds.

Just a closeup of the front doors and house color. We had to financially compromise and go with vinyl siding right now but with the roof color, double doors and a dash of red on the dormer (red shutters come at the end) we are loving it all.

Can't wait to show you ladies the final product! Thank you to those who have cheered us on through the 2 years of acquisition, design, bartering for anything and everything, etc! Hopefully we can have a KY girls get-together soon!

Thank you so much ladies. I fought and fought for those porches! Knew you would understand the importance of having them. It has been a sloooow process getting here but I truly hope this is our forever house. Blood, sweat, tears, insomnia, and sanity have gone into every nook and cranny. Will post more as it moves to completion.

thanks all!

Glad your house is moving along - are you in it yet? We are in ours finally. Had to have the builder back out a few times to fix some stuff but overall it so nice to be 'home'!

Your home is beautiful- love the colors you hve chosen. I have 1900 old farmhouse that I'm restoring here in Pa. We have put a custom siding on our house with barn red tin porch and we kept the orginal slate roof. Talk about the moneypit~ Good luck finishing your home . Alanna
