I have tried twice to wild harvest, elderberries on our farm. Both times too many "bugs" found...any one else finding this? Previous harvests have been clean from same sites...we use organic, wild harvest from safe sites. It has been a warm summer.

I missed our elderberries this year. The drought has done crazy things to timing of harvests and I am not in the right place at the right time.

I did notice a lot of elderberry flowers in a "hidden" area of our farm in July - it is usually too wet to get into, but this year was probably dry. I didn't get there in August. I think probably the elderberreis are past now, but next year I am going to watch, for sure!
