Yup, you guessed it! Robin . . . aka "Birdie" (my daughter)and I are at it again. This time in Flagstaff, Arizona. It's a 5-hr. drive for me and a 2-hr. drive for her from Phoenix. Since it's a holiday weekend and she has extra time off we decided to build our "girl fort" again and have some girlie glamp time together.

So, we'd love to have you join us on yet another adventure, even if it can only be in spirit!

Bramble is READY!! "Okay, when can we go??"

Mr. Cock-a-doodle Blue always goes along too and this is where he rides in the car.

If you're in the neighborhood, stop by . . look for this sign!

Looking forward to sharing this adventure with you as well. Hope you'll join us!
Thanks much!

DAY ONE:
- setting up partially by myself while waiting for Robin as she had to work and then drive up from Phoenix
- grocery shopping since we didn't want to have to pack and transport all of that
- make dinner: Caribbean Jerk Chicken with yellow squash, onion and pepper. With Beringer White Zin.
to bed!!
- the couple next door came over to visit and look at EVERYTHING, very intrigued, complimentary and interested.
- lady about five sites down came by with her grandgirls and looking at EVERYTHING with all kinds of OOOHHHHHs and AHHHHHS. Come to find out SHE is the one in the vintage trailer so we had to go see her CUTE little 1971 Cavalier! ADORABLE
- man from England stops by and tells us that he has camped all over the world and our site it the ABSOLUTE BEST one he has EVER seen! And we had a lovely conversation with all of these folks!
- RELAXING! Hanging out! AHHHHH
More later, girls!

Robin . . . aka "Birdie". With her little Sisterhood number sign . . does she look relaxed?!

And, I have my little Sisterhood sign too! Camper hair . . . what can I say!

Check back for more!
Thanks for sharing in yet another adventure with us!

Yesterday afernoon we got some sprinkles but it wasn't anything to get too worried about.
Make YUMMMMMM-YYYYY Burritos for supper from our own homegrown beef. Made with poblano, onion, garlic, tomato, spices, salsa and extra sharp cheese.

Yup, you guessed it . . our traditional and famous S'mores, made with homemade "marshies" that our own farmgirl "calicogirl" makes with MJ's chocolate. . . this time we had her Lavender/Milk Chocolate and "Doloris Day" dark with pecans and cinnamon. TO DIE FOR!!!!

Some VERY RUDE, INCONSIDERATE and LOUD neighbors moved in right next to us. Woman in her late 40s with her own teenagers and three other younger women. The three are very loud, have no clue about camping our campground etiquette or courtesy. It was AFTER campground established noise curfew and we had gone to bed that I had to get up and tell them they needed to turn their party off and move it. It was late and they were too close to neighbors for that . . . their table is less then 10 feet from our tent.
Robin and I were discussing that it is just plain, old, common sense and courtesy that you do NOT behave like that in these kinds of situations. They did go to bed but I heard the loudest one this morning tell their chaperone that she "wanted to go, she didn't like neighbors".
One of the things that we do enjoy about cmaping is meeting people . .. but there are some . . .

AARRGGGHHHH!!!! Does this tell you anything . . . ?

Oh CJ and Robin, sure hope your loud neighbors moved on or learned to behave. Too bad some people just don't understand "manners!"

Hope you have a nice quiet evening and fun rest of your trip. Safe travels home.

Well, our neighbors have not moved on, however we've had rain and wind this afternoon and that has dampened their rowdy behavior . . we'll see.
For supper we had Spicy Burgers (more of our homegrown Longhorn beef) with a yummy spinach salad with all kinds of stuff on it and fresh corn on the cob. The corn is from Olathe, Colorado . . . found it here in Flagstaff, Arizona. A very yummy meal.
Because of the rain and having to deal with it and tarp everything we didn't really have lunch . . . unless you call Cabernet Sauvignon wine and Red Vine twists lunch . . :D.
So, we waited until about 4 PM and cooked our meal, the rain had passed, the sun was shining and it was very delicious. Then we had another round of weather come through with WIND and I mean WIND! We have 25-30 pound concrete weights on all four corners of our canopy . . . we still had to hang onto it. The neighbor behind us had his son go in and hold down their tent while he restaked it to keep it from going into orbit. That has passed and I see patches of blue sky in the west . . .we're holding out for another round of s'mores!!!

How's this for fans of S'mores! Bramble did very well with this and we had fun with it! My daughter Robin, aka "Birdie" is on the right!

Have more pics to share as we go . . thanks for letting us!

Bad neighbors gone! . .:)
Good neighbors gone! . . . :(
Major exodus of campers out of the campground today. It's already sooooooo much quieter. . . :D
Hanging out, going out for dinner tonight so we're gonna dress up a bit. Robin will go home tomorrow afternoon, but will help me with partial break down tomorrow after lunch. I'm staying over tomorrow night . . . wanted to stay longer so I had MORE TIME with my "Birdie". It'll only take her a couple hours to drive home tomorrow evening.
Then, Bramble and I will hang out together tomorrow night and go home on Wednesday.

P.S. Bad neighbors had to go into their tents last night because of the rain and sprinkles . . . they had no other shelter!
Thanks girls . . .

Cooking good food . . . YUMMY
This morning was scrambled eggs from my neighbor, with potatoe, poblano, onion, mushroom and good spices. Bacon and multi-grain toast with my hubby's peach jam.
Our neighbors were making a big deal about the aroma of bacon wafting all over the place!
More to come . . !

Even our wine bottles get a cute little "glamping" dress!
I can't crochet, but found this at a thrift store . . Robin and I decided this was its purpose

Vintage thermos bottle for 50 cents from thrift that keeps water HOT!
Tupperware canisters from the 70s . . bought them new when they were "in".
Fun, fun!

WA-A-A-A-A-H-H-H-HHHHHHH!!
Birdie has to go back home this afternoon! We have just had the best time and she has to go back to work tomorrow.

I will be staying over tonight because that gives us about 4-5 hours more of time together. We'll take down the canopy and the glam and fluff in it. I'll finish up in the morning by taking down the tent . . have until 11 AM to do it and check out.

It's always sad when we have to part ways and say goodbye!!
But I have lots of more pics to share . . .

. . .so come back!

Flagstaff is in the Ponderosa pine forest. Ponderosas grow quite large, tall and have LONG needles. We have them in our part of Colorado as well. The campground is graced with lots and lots of Ponderosas and our glampsite has two that our canopy was set up under. We decided that one of them needed an apron. This was right by the path that folks took to the KOA Korral . . a building where they could gest snacks and such.
To the right is the backside of part of our canopy.

But, of course, gotta start reading the "Glamping with Mary Jane" book . . .

And, ya' gotta have your tunes . . and Mary Janes chocolate!

My hubby made a handy little stand for us to hang our sign on that with a spike on the bottom so it can be driven into the ground. It has two curved hook-y things, one for the sign and the other for our hummingbird feeder. We didn't put the feeder out as it seemed apparent that the hummers had already left for the winter.

"Welcome"! Come on over, stop by and sit a spell!
I can't tell you how many folks . . women AND men . . stopped by to tell us how they loved our glampsite, paid us high compliments and asked about what we were about. We've been photographed, videoed, visited and complimented!
We invited folks to come on in, check out the canopy, peek in the tent and just enjoy all of our furnishings and fun!

Here is the "Hankie-de-lier" in the peak of our tent. Just took four pretty hankies, pulled one corner through the loop at the peak of tent and used very small safety pins to secure them to the netting part of the tent.

The back of our tent with the rainfly sporting it's ecru eyelet ruffle and our canopy just beyond. We drape our linens and such on two sides of the canopy, leaving the other two sides open.

More later . . .

My glamping dress, hanging on a dressed up hanger at the corner of the canopy

We put Battenburg lace along all the edges of the rainfly, and ruffled eyelet along under the windows on the inside on two sides. Under the window at the back was a long piece of lace that I cut off the edge of a sheet. This pic shows the eyelet ruffle under one window, with ivy greenery and altered clothespins to dress up the window a bit. It is looking out the window and you can see the backside of the Battenburg lace on the edge of the rainfly.

Check back later . . I'll have more pics of the "laced up" tent!
Thanks for letting us share!
