We are in the process of raising furniture, getting important boxes in the car, getting cash, etc...
Be safe.

Dorinda: Are you and your family preparing? Take care. Keep us posted. I'm in South Louisiana, 6 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. We are watching the Weather Channel hourly.
Be safe.

Yes Marly we have prepared a little. But looking at it this morning they have it swinging out away from us. Not as close to shore. I think we are just going to get some of the outer bands. You guys always seem to get the worst of it. Stay safe. Will be praying for you.. Keep in touch if you can.

Thank you, Dorinda. It seems Isaac is taking a more westerly turn, not good for Louisiana. We continue watching the Weather Channel. We are packed and ready to go at the moments notice. If it gets any closer, we'll be evacuated by the sheriff's department. Be safe, and keep in touch.

Just went to the grocery store the place was a mad house. Could'nt wait to get out of there. But I got everything I went for. Hurricane goodies. Cookies and chips which I never normally buy. But my DH was persistant we needed hurricane snacks. Good luck on your get away. Stay safe. We are just starting to get some heavy rains and winds from it. So here it comes....

Ok Marly, All over with here . Everything went fine. I think the worst was during the night. 5 inches of rain. It woke me up about 3:00 am during the night . I laid there and listen to the wing blowing and the rain hitting the window. We never lost power. Good luck with you guys. I am praying for you all. Let me know how you are after its over.

Hubby is in Louisiana today (Pella) and reports where he is at presently is clear, sunny, and HOT<HOT<HOT! Now that was just the way he put it so I'm not sure if its really that hot or not (haha)for me it would likely feel that hot because I hate hot weather and humidity anytime or anywhere. He will then be heading to Welch, Oklahoma with some haymowers. With his newest job he never knows where life will take him, As for me,mine never takes me anywhere :( Still here, in SE Indiana where it is sunny, clear and also hot.

Hope everyone has a great day!

My best friend, Ron, left NOLA yesterday afternoon. He works for the University and they shut down school for a few days to let things blow over. So, he headed to Daytona to see his dad. He felt like he could sit around in the dark if the power goes out, or he could pre-empt any major evacuation order and get outta dodge.

Ok correction: Hubby has informed me he is not in Pella Louisiana..he is in Pella Iowa...what? So I informed him that you shouldn't abbreviate a state when you text because some of the letters look the same for example capital I looks like a lower case l so for me Ia looked like la...ohmy he never gets what I'm saying so I just said ok honey from now on when you abbreviate a state use all capital letters, or better yet just spell it out.

It is very hot and humid here near Houston from the storm. But I think I'll take the heat and humid rather than the 20+ inches of rain.

Got an email from her right before she evacuated. Prayers going up for all in the storm.

My Mom in Ohio tells me that they are forecasting very bad weather for them towards the middle of the week from what is left.

We are fine. Thankfully we were on the west side of the hurricane. We did get the high winds, but NO WATER.
Thank you both, Dorinda and Amy, for your concern.

Marly, so glad you are ok, I've been thinking about you. Are you back home, and did you have any wind damage. Kennie Lyn

Yes, we are home. We did leave, but came back before the hurricane hit. The sheriff's department advised us that Isaac had taken a more northerly turn and we'd be okay back home. Thank goodness we were on the west side. No wind damage, but a lot of debris in the yard; limbs, etc... I've already cleaned up the back yard. I'll be working on the front yard today.
Thanks for your concern. How are the fires? Keep me posted.

Thanks, Dorinda. Being from Florida, and me in Louisiana... well, I hope there would be no more hurricanes. But, I don't think that's what it'll be. We are in the peak hurricane season right now. Glad that you are okay.

Hey gals. So very glad to hear that everyone has come through ok. I am in South East Indiana and we have been predicted heavy winds, hail and 8 inches of rain between last night and Tuesday. It is terribly sticky and close out but so far nothing more than overcast skies and a few sprinkles here and there. With things so dry everybody has been praying for rain for months and if the reports are accurate they will get what they've been praying for even if its not exactly in the manner they would have chosen. I always tell the kids be very careful what you wish for you just may get it! I'm sure all of our predictions for inclement weather are after effects from Isaac as well. Better go and see if I can go coax hubby into putting a few more screws in the sheet of metal that keeps flapping in the breeze. A girls work is never done (teehee) truth be told I will likely have to climb up the 2 stories and do it myself, heights are not my forte so pray I don't have a mishap or the wind doesn't whip up until I'm through. Someone my find me dangling from their weathervane by my pantaloons. Wouldn't that be a story to tell!
