Do you ever get bit by the cleaning bug?

This weekend I really worked on getting caught up on laundry- even folding it as it got out of the dryer and hanging it up. This is a huge change because out family mostly operates on the "dig through the clean basket" model. Doug had a hard time finding clothes yesterday because they were all in his dresser!!

Then last night I spent about another hour picking up the living room and doing a few more loads of laundry.

Maybe tonight I will tackle the bathroom! lol

Alee, I don't want that bug. I just finish cleaning. LOL. Hope you get a lot done.

Thanks ladies!

Yes I have gotten soo much done. Right now there is only two smallish loads of dirty clothes in the basemet (not counting all the blankets that I have to do because they were on the floor and full of dog hair... yuck!) I am also going to wash Nora's stuffed animals. Tonight I vinegar shampooed the carpets- it helps get the pet odor out and once it dries you can't smell the vinegar at all! I got the living room half way picked up last night and will probably work onit a bit more tonight. I want to get the floors mopped before this weekend and have a nice clean house to come home to after a craft fair on Saturday and Sunday.

Wow, Alee, you have so much ambition, but it is always so nice to come home to a nice clean, fresh home. I must do that soon, before it is time to close the windows and doors.

I am off this week & my plans are to clean my apartment - room by room - and get organized! I really need to do most of these things, but it's so hard when I work til 6 & go to bed at 10ish. I need to make myself a list & be able to check it off/stroke it off as I'm finished with it! Hopefully I'll get things done! I only have til Thursday to do it all in - thankfully my apartment isn't that big & it shouldn't take that long! lol

That's great, Alee! I get the cleaning bug once in a while. Mostly late a night, say 1am! I makes me thankful though because some days I don't want to think about cleaning let alone do it, but then there will be a stretch where I get a burst of energy and feel so good I want to have everything nice around me. Laundry and dishes are my Achilles because there is always so much of them. I am thankful when it hits because they get attacked with a vengeance!
Enjoy getting your clean on girl!

Oh....I've been bitten big time. Starting last week I deep cleaned the kitchen computer area, filed and shredded paperwork, scrubbed soot off the house siding (more to do), deep cleaned my bedroom, and the bathrooms. I'm still in my bedroom, purging clothes, and other stuff. In between that, I have regular laundry to wash and hang out.

My cleaning bug has just gotten started! My husband and I recently got back from two weekends of camping, so between all the camping gear that has been dumped inside, plus a few weeks of general everyday clutter, I was sick of everything! So in an effort to make room in our closets and organize them, I emptied a bunch of Eric's button-down shirts out of our upstairs closet - that gave us a little more space for moving seasonal clothing - and I donated them to our local shelter, House of Hope. With any luck, they'll have a bunch of men with 15 - 15 1/2 inch necks that need good shirts for work! Just as well since I don't think they ever fit Eric I also donated some clean but worn blankets and sheets to the local animal shelter, recycled my old laptop, and painted the downstairs hallway with my mom! I was very tired on Saturday so I rewarded myself with a nice bath after dinner!

This week we're house-sitting for my parents, and I've found that really helps to keep our own house clean! We stop by our place every so often to do some dishes or a load of laundry, and then leave. By the time we come home at the end of the week, everything has been picked up and no new junk has been added! So I highly recommend house-sitting as a cleaning tactic

Yes, I need some motivation too! I've been feeling burned out and lazy. It's cooler weather now and I just want to sleep; isn't that just terrible!! LOL

I have 4 kids ages 3, 6, 11, and 13. If I include my husband, that's 5! I have a 114 yr old farmhouse and it has 13 rooms. I admit that I cannot keep up with it all. Just gotta keep doing the best I can.:)

Oi, me too! Moved into a new house in May and am just getting around to deep cleaning and organizing. The problem is that the house was only "new" to me--my partner had already lived here for two years, and the house was full up with his clutter (and, I'm sorry to say, dirt!). I've spent two days just working on the bathroom alone! But it feels so good to have a clean house, doesn't it?

I even typed out a cleaning schedule to post on the wall with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks to do. Not saying it will always be followed, but it's a good reminder. Hoping to post some downloadable templates on my blog soon to share with everyone!

Oh Lyndell, I feel for you girl!

My husband and I have been married for 14 yrs and he had lived in the house for years before I came along. I still have a hard time trying to organize his 'clutter'; esp. the office!

How's the bathtub?

I just sat down and scrubbed it some more... I fear it's about as clean as it's gonna get. I may try the vinegar trick to see if that helps any. Good news is it's better than it was before, and as long as it's clean, a little staining isn't going to bother me!

Finally....wood barn is almost cleaned up. We just have to split some more larger pieces and cut some branches. Then we can start hauling in wood. Yay!

I have been shampooing carpets and I cannot tell you how bad I want to rip them up and get wood flooring. Hopefully, we can do that next year. It will save on cleaning supplies and work. Ugh.

I have another load ready to take to the thrift store (donations), and have started deep cleaning the front room (we only have one sitting room in this house).

Alee, someone once asked this question. I NEVER get the cleaning bug. I clean because I have to, to keep things looking nice. I hate to clean. LOL
I bet your house is spotless. Hugs
