That is how I found my cat Cricket, I was going into pay for my gas and walked by a dumpster. She was eating out of it. I said to myself if she follows me, I'll take her ... Well, that was 5 years ago. Good luck, hope everything works out for the little thing.

I hope the rescued kitten finds a wonderful home. Teri, thanks for taking the kitty home. She's probably had a wonderful five years. Marly

He is a cutie! He looks big enough from the photos to have already been weaned. With the snotty nose he may need some antibiotics to ward off a URI. His eyes are pretty clear though so that's a good sign. A vet or the shelter can probably give you some meds. It shouldn't take much to get him into good shape! You are a wonderful person for taking him in!

You and your girls are tops in my book for rescuing this little guy! The world needs more people like you all! He's too cute. I hope he's able to respond to your loving care. I think I've been bit by cat fever again. I've been thinking more and more about getting one. Haven't had one since 1997, the last of 5. Might be time don't you think?

Guess what?! The humane society took him, but not willingly. I have no air conditioning in any of the vehicles I have to drive. So, on the hottest day, yesterday, I drove this little guy to town. They humane society will find a reason to not take any animals that are not surrendered or abandoned. And they won't take any animal out of the county.
So, we sweat to death driving the 30 minutes (ended up longer due to in-town construction AGH!) drive to town. This poor little guy threw up in his cage. My bangs were soaked in sweat. Anyway, we get him inside and they look him over. They him-haw and tell me that they can't take him - no room, no cages.
Then another person comes out to look him over, question where we got him, etc. Then I get frustrated and tell her that my daughter, the one with me, volunteered all summer last summer for the Humane Society etc. They still him-haw. Finally, I say if you can't take him, he'll have to ride in my hot car for another 2 hours while I complete my errands and it's very hot out, and I have no air conditioning (and I'm not driving home and back again).
They still him-haw....
Finally, they discover he's got feline lice. Thank you God! If this little guy had not had lice, they would not have a reason to take him. The reason being - they had other kittens in cages with feline lice and could put him in with them. Phew!
Then, I have my daughter call him, and tell everyone to vacuum good, and wash anything the kitten touched. Thankfully, we didn't find any on our house cats. I'm just glad the little guy gets a chance at life.
