Hey ladies! I just joined the connection here, though I've been hearing about different circles from my mom for years (even taking part in some swaps via proxy). I'm kinda only half-farmgirl, I guess, living in the suburbs, but feeling a sort of nostalgia when I meet people who are familiar with how I grew up.

I am married to an engineer (works on airplanes) and have a beautiful little girl named Annie (19mo and counting), with another due in December.

I'm a crafter, a thrifter, and a sci-fi geek, but not much of an outdoorsy type, and I super-love Christmas. I'm happy to be able to chat and share with others of my ilk, and then some.

Hey there's one of my girls! Glad to see you here. Hope you'll like it. Some of the girls have already heard of Annie back a couple of years ago!

I'm also new to the forum and from Ohio...Liberty Township to be exact. I was born and raised in Atlanta, but always longed for the country life. I worked on a dairy in Kentucky for a bit while I was in college and loved it! My husband is in the K-9 Unit for our local agency; his partner is a Belgian Malinois. We have four children (ages 17, 15, 12, and 10). We also have five other dogs (a basset hound and four retired racing greyhounds). I worked full-time up until October 2010 and am now a homemaker still trying to run my home smoothly. I would love to be a good cook and to grow my own garden. I would also like to have a hen house and a beehive, but am almost certain that's not allowed in our subdivision. The only craft I think I am decent at is knitting, which I took up a few years ago. I love reading and sitting on my front porch enjoying the weather when it rains. I also love holidays and all the traditions associated with them, especially Christmas.

Guess that's all for now-
Philena

Don't have much time for books, but I love Serenity/Firefly & Stargate (Atlantis more than SG-1). I like most nerdy shows, like TBBT and Eureka, as well as some of the fantasy genre, like BBC's Merlin.
