Hi Ladies, I need some help, my dog got skunked, now we seem
to have solved the problem on his fur but he received a shot
in the mouth, so its all over his gums,now its been a week but
the smell his really still mighty awful, any ideas on what to
use? Help!

He may need to have his teeth and mouth cleaned by a vet. I hope the little guy is okay.

Thanks Marly, my vet told us to use saline in his mouth, and my sister
said to try some vinegar. Or maybe we will just wait for it to wear off.

hydrogen peroxide and baking soda is the best skunk smell remover, and it won't hurt if it is used to wash out their mouth, put a few drops of mineral oil in their eyes, and cotten balls in their ears, then soak them with mixture, let sit 30 min.s and rinse, repeat as nessacary...

Tina, Thank you for the advise about the mineral oil and cotton balls, I was being
oh so careful to not get anything in their eyes and now I know what to do. But I am
hoping it won't happen again.
